With one studio in a former butcher’s shop on the southern coast of England, and a second located in London’s creative epicenter, Shoreditch, the variance in ilovedust’s workspaces matches the range of projects that come out of them. Co-founders Mark Graham and Ben Beach established the multi-disciplinary design boutique (which specializes in graphic design, animation, illustration, and trend production) in May 2003; more than a decade later, the duo finds itself surrounded by a team with a headcount in the double digits.
Designer Karl Lagerfeld called upon ilovedust (ILD) to cover the walls at the launch of his eponymous range at Luisa Via Roma in Florence with murals; the same event also featured a collection of ilovedust-created T-shirts inspired by Lagerfeld’s aphorisms. Ilovedust's other commercial clients include Nike, LG, BMW, Ray-Ban, Miller Genuine Draft, MTV, Microsoft, Coca Cola, Kidrobot, Virgin Media and Mobile, Pepsi, and Kiehl’s. The firm’s illustrations have appeared in the New Yorker, Wired, Billboard, and Fortune magazine.
Ilovedust is celebrated for its preemptive thinking; clients often hire the group for a specific creative element and end up receiving what they never realized they wanted – which sometimes means co-lab vinyl toys and custom-made fixed gear bikes, and other times, complete branding and graphic solutions.
